We worship and serve a great God!! In 2011, after meeting for three years in the “upper room” at 679 Mast Road in the Pinardville section of Goffstown, our church began to pray that God would provide a new building that we could meet in. Though we had a beautiful meeting area in the building we were in, we found that many people had a difficult time finding us and many had difficulty climbing the stairs to the second floor. We began to pray that the Lord would provide a building that would give us greater visibility and handicap accessibility. In the summer of 2012, God led us to a building just down the street from where we were meeting. The building is a former vacuum cleaner store located right on Mast Road, right across from the fire station. God gave a vision for how the building could be transformed into a church building, but we soon realized that it was going to take a lot of faith and patience to see the project through.
Our first set of hurdles would be to get approval from our town officials to put a church in this location. We had to draw up floor plans for the interior of the building and site plans for the exterior of the building. It took several months of consultations with fire and building inspectors, and meetings before the Planning Board. We are grateful for the wisdom of our town officials and their dedication to safety. It was a great night when we got our final approval to go ahead with the project. Little did we know that our challenges were just beginning!
We began construction at the end of October of 2012. We had a long list of things that needed to be built, repaired, upgraded, painted and cleaned! During the time of construction, Pastor Prescott preached a series of messages from the book of Nehemiah, where we were challenged in chapter 2, verse 20: “The God of heaven, he will prosper us: therefore we his servants will arise and build….” And that is just what we did. We trusted God to lead us and provide. We worked hard and sought His wisdom and strength. We worked through the obstacles. We worked through the trials. We worked through the blizzards. Everyone found a way to get involved. We were labourers together with God! Finally, in March of 2013, the walls were built, new bathrooms constructed, decks rebuilt and all the projects were done. We got our occupancy permit and on March 24th we had a Dedication Sunday where we dedicated our new building to the Lord. May He get all the glory for what was accomplished!
